Pattern

WE ARE NO LONGER ACCEPTING SUBMISSIONS. The performances of The People to Come are complete. Thank you to everyone who participated between July 2012 and July 2013.

A pattern is anything that repeats itself periodically. Pattern is wall paper, the "hook" in your favorite song, Morse Code, the rings of a tree, pig latin, the streets of Manhattan, the lunar calendar, iambic pentameter, your mood swings. Pattern is a language, a system.

Our minds are particularly well-suited to detect and understand patterns, making them a perceptually important feature of human-generated reality. Pattern is how we make meaning from what is around us.

WE ARE ASKING YOU TO ALTER OUR RHYTHM. Give us a pattern you work with or within, have created, experienced, been curious about, or imagined. We will build on it.
